Overall | At first when I chose this bottle I thought, “Should I really do another IPA?” But, this is not just another IPA. This is a well-made, lovely IPA. I can only imagine how delicious this tastes fresh and on tap at the brewery! |
On Friday, March 21, Asheville Brewing Company released bottles of Perfect Day IPA for the first time ever to celebrate the first day of spring. The IPA has been very popular at the brewery’s locations, but this was the first time the beer was available to take home. The brewery released the brew in 22 ounce bottles available at the brewery only at first, then later at local bottle shops. As the bottle says, DRINK IT FRESH! #myperfectday
Brewing since 1998, Asheville Brewing Company has been serving up year round beers to the Asheville locals including Shiva IPA, Red Light IPA, Rolands ESB, Stuntman Brown, Ninja Porter, and Scout Stout.
Their original location, located on Merrimon Avenue, is known as the Brew ‘n View. The original 7 barrel brewhouse is here along with a dine-in movie theater, a full service restaurant, and gameroom. Locals come here to enjoy the award winning pizza with their brews and catch a movie.
The downtown Asheville location on Coxe Avenue is where the production brewery and packaging facility is located. This is where they can, bottle, and keg their brews. Visitors can tour the brewery, sip a brew under the covered patio, or play a game of Giant Jenga or Cornhole.
We visited the downtown location during our trip to Asheville. Since we had already hit up several other breweries that day, I ordered only one beer at the bar – Love Ninja Raspberry Porter. It was delicious. Luckily, they had several bottles to go, including this one.
Asheville Brewing Company certainly loves hops. Since April 11th, Asheville Brewing Company has tapped a new “mystery” single hop IPA every Friday. This will continue up through Asheville Beer Week in May. The seven IPAs were all brewed using the same recipe, except for the hops. Each hop variety is a secret until the IPA release. All seven IPAs will be released on Wednesday May 28 at Asheville Brewing Company in one flight.
