Steph’s New Brew Review: Broad Brook Ale

Broad Brook Brewing Company Broad Brook Ale, 6.1% ABV Amber Ale

Appearance Hazy brown color, thin tan head.
Aroma Caramel, toffee, nutty.
Taste Caramel, dried fruit, bready malt notes.
Mouthfeel Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation.
Overall Would pair nicely with a burger!

Broad Brook Brewing found inspiration from being “tired of drinking bland beer that fell flat on our taste buds.” The brewery opened in 2013 in East Windsor, Connecticut, just 5 years after the founders – Eric Mance, Joe DeAlba and Tom Rossing – had begun homebrewing in a garage just down the road.

Broad Brook Ale is a year-round offering from Broad Brook, with others like 7th Heaven IPA, Chet’s Pale Ale, Hopstillo IPA, and Porter’s Porter. Some seasonal offerings from Broad Brook include No BS Brown Ale, Rough Guy Rye IPA, Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, MaGoo’s Robust Porter, and T-Bock Lager.

Broad Brook distributes many of their beers in 16-ounce cans throughout Connecticut and parts of Western Massachusetts. Cheers!
