Independent Brewing Company opened at the end of October 2015 in Bel Air, Maryland after two-and-a-half years of planning. The brewery is located in a former auto repair shop near the Ma & Pa Trail in Harford County.
The brewery was founded by Phillip Rhudy, who also works as the brewmaster. Rhudy focuses on a “farm-to-glass” idea, using locally grown ingredients when possible.
The taproom features 22 taps and a long U-shaped wooden bar. The 4th quarter of the Ravens game had everyone’s attention while live acoustic music from Piper Bateman filled the space.
An additional space in the back was filled with families playing games and enjoying Crabby Mac n Cheese and Truffle Asiago Fries from WOLO food truck.
