What do you do when there is no beer fest in your area and you have to travel out of town to attend a beer fest of any kind? You create your own beer fest! That is exactly what Tyler Budwash and his pals did.
The first ever Schuylkill County Brew Fest took place on May 16, 2015 at the Frackville Elks in Frackville, PA. Presented by Puff’s Promotions and Cousin Dave Entertainment, the event cost $35 ($30 presale) and ran from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Attendees received a branded pint glass, a program and a pen. “A pen?” you ask. The program included a list of the beer being served during the event and a spot for beer drinkers to rate each beer they sampled.
Local beer lovers enjoyed craft beers from local, regional and national breweries during the outdoor event. The temperature was warm and the sun was shining bright, the perfect environment to drink beer! In fact, as the event came to a close, the dark clouds rolled in and a few rain drops began to fall.
There were 400+ people in attendance, which was exciting for the organizers. About 200 tickets were sold during the presale. Designated driver tickets were available for only $10.
The breweries that participated in the event included:
- Appalachian Brewing Company
- Chatty Monks Brewing
- Conyngham Brewing Company
- Cottrell Brewing Company
