Press release… November, 11, 2021 marks the tenth Anniversary of HiJinx Brewing Company. Between November 4th and November 14th, HiJinx Brewing Company will host eleven days of events, games, live music, and the release of an Anniversary Brew at its Brewery in the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center on the Southside of Allentown.
HiJinx began their journey in 2011 in Curt Keck’s 400 square foot garage. The brewery supplied a handful of Lehigh Valley bars and restaurants from this facility until 2013. In 2014, along with former partner Chris Becker and partner Jack Romaine, HiJinx began the move to the Allentown Economic Development Corporation’s (AEDC) Bridgeworks Enterprise Center and into a 4,000
square foot manufacturing facility where the brewery now resides. This location also houses a taproom where patrons can sit and enjoy a beer, catch some live music, or just grab some beer to go.
The anniversary celebration kicks off on November 4th with a disc golf putting tournament and celebration of the Curt’s birthday. “We decided to make the party 11 days (instead of 10) as a way to look forward and celebrate the year ahead in addition to the decade behind us. Our business motto is similar to how we make our beer; we like to have fun, do the unexpected, and do things a little differently,” says Curt. “When you visit our tasting room, you can try anything from a German Lager, to a coconut IPA, to a Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter.”
On November 11 HiJinx will release the “Decade of Debauchery” anniversary beer, a rye imperial stout aged in a rye whiskey barrel. HiJinx collaborated with fellow Bridgeworks beverage manufacturer County Seat Spirits, using one of the distillery’s rye whiskey barrels for the occasion. “This celebration means a lot to us,” said Keck. “We’re recognizing not just the longevity of our business, but our strong community of beer enthusiasts, customers, and partners. We want them to know we appreciate their support.”
David Dunn, AEDC’s Manager of the Bridgeworks incubation program says, “HiJinx represents entrepreneurship in its purest form. Curt Keck has transformed his passion to make great beer into a business that is recognized for its quality, great taste, and value.”
HiJinx will offer anniversary merchandise for purchase and as giveaways. The anniversary designs features the original logo next to the newest logo with the anniversary theme, “Decade of Debauchery.” Events include:
