Hawthornes Cafe 738 S. 11th Street | Philadelphia, PA 19147 215.627.3012 www.hawthornecafe.com |
In May, I wrote about the IPA Block Party hosted by Hawthornes Cafe at the intersection of 11th and Fitzwater Streets in South Philly. The event was a rousing success with people in great spirits drinking an array of fantastically hoppy brews.
Not to be outdone, Hawthornes returns to the streets on Saturday, November 7th, for their annual Fall Fest Block Party from 12pm to 8pm. This time around will feature an impressive combination of seasonal beers and ciders, while serving up some of Hawthornes’ famous dishes. Once again there will be live music, but to help with the plummeting temperatures the restaurant will provide fire pits for your enjoyment.
Some of the libations on hand will be:
- Cigar City
Jai Alai, Maduro Brown, Hard Cider - Half Acre
Daisy Cutter, Gone Away - Ballast Point
Grapefruit Sculpin, Grunion
- Dark Horse
Raspberry Ale
Apollo Crooked Tree - Neshaminy
JAWN
Highwater Hefe
Plus Lakefront Pumpkin Lager, Neshaminy Punkless, 4 Hands Chocolate Milk Stout, AleSmith IPA, Bullfrog Green Fuzz IPA, Evil Twin Hipster and Stillwater Yacht.
And many more to be added in the near future. Much like the IPA festival, admission will be free and the service will be cash only. Hawthornes makes a point to stress that pets and kids are welcomed, so bring the whole family. On a chilly fall day this will be the perfect way to warm up, with some of the best seasonal beers and delicious pub food hand-in-hand.
