Urban Village Brewing Company is releasing its first beer in cans, it’s popular Wrong Way IPA. In a limited release canning run, the beer is available at the brewery and several shops in the area while supplies last.
Wrong Way IPA is named for the brewery’s now-infamous incident shortly after opening – a man drove a U-Haul truck the wrong way down a one-way street and crashed into the building.
The canning was limited to 120 cases and will be available in four-packs for $15. Besides the brewery, select local bars and shops will carry the cans as well, including Garage North and South, Station Taproom, and several local Whole Foods Markets. At 6.4% ABV, this IPA combines flavors of lychee, passion fruit and melon.
Urban Village is located at the Piazza at Schmidts in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties neighborhood. They pair craft beer and brick oven fired pizzas with dough made from natural fermented yeast.
