The Fark Awakens this summer when Stone releases the next in the w00tstout series.
Future Beer Busters guest Wil Wheaton teamed back up with Drew Curtis of Fark.com and Greg Koch of Stone for this year’s Star Wars-inspired collaboration. In the tradition of those before it, this year’s Stone Farking w00tstout will be an Imperial Stout with an impressive 13% ABV. According to Stone’s website:
“This barrel-aged palate-saver has been a favorite among our fans—and us—since its inception in 2013. Pecans, wheat, flaked rye and bourbon-soaked wood provide this whopping, complex superhero version of an imperial stout with a profound complexity that makes it ideal for cellaring—if you can wait that long. Now, we can’t say this beer bestows superpowers, exactly, but your taste buds may just be fooled into believing as much.”
The label was illustrated by Amanda Conner, and is to support the Hero Initiative – an organization that serves as a financial safety net for comic creators.
The beer will be released July 11, 2016, and will be available on draught and in 22oz bottles.
All four vintages of w00tstout, as well as six casks of can’t miss limited offerings, will be available at the fourth annual Hop Con on Wednesday, July 20th. The annual melding of beer and nerdery at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens will consume “all 66,000 square feet” this year with “more retro arcade games, more casks and more bars.”
