Jack’s Abby Brewing announced a partnership with Shangy’s back in February 2015, expanding distribution to Eastern Pennsylvania. Previously, Jack’s Abby beers were distributed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, upstate New York, and parts of Vermont. Jack’s Abby also plans to start pouring in Rhode Island.
WIth this new relationship with Shangy’s, the Framingham, Massachusetts-based brewery looks to achieve the brewery’s goal of becoming a top Northeastern regional brewery.
Jack’s Abby is a family-owned crafter brewery founded by brothers Jack, Eric, and Sam Hendler. They are known for brewing entirely craft lagers using traditional German brewing techniques. The flagship lager, Hoponius Union, is an India Pale Lager, a new style that combines cold fermentation and extended lagering times with bold west coast hop profiles.
During the month of April, Jack’s Abby is releasing its lagers to test the Eastern Pennsylvania market before permanent distribution after the brewery’s major expansion is complete in early 2016.
Jack’s Abby’s year-round offering (Hoponius Union, Mass Rising, Leisure Time, Jabby Brau and Smoke & Dagger) and a few seasonal and specialty brews including Framinghammer, Saxonator and Calyptra will be distributed through Shangy’s.
The Fridge in Lancaster, PA held their annual Hoppy Easter event on Saturday, April 4, which featured Mass Rising on tap and five different Jack’s Abby bottles for sale.
