Rogue has announced their upcoming sixth beer in the Voodoo Doughnut series, the Grape Guerrilla Ale. The series of beers is a collaboration with the famed Voodoo Doughnuts, which originated in Portland, Oregon, but now has locations in Eugene, OR, Denver, CO, and Austin, TX.
Grape Guerrilla Ale is based off their popular Grape Ape, a doughnut with vanilla frosting, grape dust, and lavender sprinkles. Rogue’s president Brett Joyce describes the beer by saying, “The beer is fantastic. It’s got a great grape essence and doesn’t taste like cough syrup. It’s grape in a great way.”
The beer entered distribution in November, 2016, in 750 mL bottles. It clocks in at 7.5% ABV and 16 IBU.
Other beers in the Rogue Voodoo Doughnut series include Mango Astronaut Ale, Maple Bacon Ale (which also spawned Maple Bacon Vodka), Lemon Chiffon Crueller Ale, Pretzel Raspberry & Chocolate Ale, and Chocolate, Peanut Butter & Banana Ale.
