Beer Busters Podcast Episode 30 guest JR Heaps from South County Brewing Company in Fawn Grove, PA recently invited the Beer Busters to stop by the brewery and check out his new brewhouse.
The new system – made of German steel, built in Slovenia, and sold as Italian – is a 15-barrel steam semi-automated brewhouse that will allow JR to brew more beer, brew more efficiently and sustainably, and also expand distribution.
Along with the new brewhouse, JR has also expanded cellar capacity. Also, the majority of South County’s bottled beers have been converted to 12-ounce packaging. The four regulars: AmericAle, Sessions ESB, Day Rider, and Black Cowgirl are available in 12-ounce bottles in cases and 6-packs. You can still expect special release beers in 22-ounce bottles. Additionally, distribution is increasing to an additional 18 to 20 counties in Pennsylvania.
