Schöfferhofer Weizen (pronounced Chauffeur + ah + The Hoff + ah!) was the first wheat beer in Germany to be brewed outside Bavaria.
The award-winning beer is known for its fruity character with a slight citrus note combined with a hint of clove. Schöfferhofer is known as “the champagne among wheat beers”.
The Schöfferhofer brand was founded in Frankfurt, Germany in 1870. The Schöfferhofer Weizen was first brewed in 1978 in a brewhouse in Kassel and later in Frankfurt. Schöfferhofer Weizen opened up the market for wheat beer other regions of Germany.
Schöfferhofer Grapefruit is the world’s first Hefeweizen grapefruit beer. It’s a true 50/50 blend of Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen blended with carbonated juice of 100% natural ingredients.
Schöfferhofer Grapefruit is currently available in a 11.2 fluid ounce bottle, 16.9 fluid ounce can, and draft. The refreshing concoction is also a favorite of bartenders and mixologists as it is often used as an ingredient in mixed drinks. You can see some recipes here.
