Fat Head’s Brewery began in the historic South Side of Pittsburgh, PA when Fat Head’s Saloon was founded in 1992. The Fat Head’s 278-seat brewpub location in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon opened in November 2014.
The 10-barrel brewhouse on site fuels the 42 rotating taps at the bar. Popular choices include Head Hunter IPA, Hop Juju Imperial IPA, Güdenhoppy Pils, and Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale. Other tasty selections include IBUsive, a Simcoe and Citra hop punch, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, a cinnamon sweet Vienna Lager served on nitro. There is also a variety of barrel aged brews like Wine Barrel Aged Zeus Juice.
The food menu includes munchies like Frickles, Smokehouse Chili Fries, Original Buffalo Cauliflower, and Giant Pretzel. The Smokehouse Wings come in a variety of flavors from Smokey BBQ and Honey Chipotle to Traditional Buffalo and Killer. The menu also includes a variety of soups, salads, chicken sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and subs.
Headwiches (you know, sandwiches relatively close to the size of your head) include Southside Slopes with kielbasa, sautéed pierogis and onions, American cheese and horseradish sauce (voted #5 Best Sandwich in U.S.A. by Maxim Magazine), Mo Betta Beef and Chedda, and The Codfather.
The brewpub is open Monday to Thursday 11:30 AM to 11 PM, Friday to Saturday 11:30 AM to midnight, and Sunday 11:30 AM to 11 PM. Happy Hour on Sunday to Thursday runs from 3 to 6 PM and 9 PM to close. Beers are available in crowlers and bottles to go. There is metered street parking in the bustling Pearl District neighborhood.
