Press release… The Brewers of Pennsylvania (BOP) has announced the craft beer pairings and menu for the four-course dinner at the 2018 Meeting of the Malts , the BOP’s popular annual event held in Bethlehem on Thursday, August 23. Pennsylvania’s official brewers guild has also announced that it will honor the recipient of the inaugural Brewers of Pennsylvania President’s Award at the event.
The Beer Dinner, which runs from 7:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. follows the powerhouse panel discussion with participants Bill Covaleski (Victory Brewing Company), Tom Kehoe (Yards Brewing Company), Wendy Yuengling (D. G. Yuengling & Son), Mike Stevens (Michigan-based Founders Brewing Company), and Joey Redner (Florida-based Cigar City Brewing). The opening toast and each course will include beers from these respected craft breweries.

BOP President’s Award
At Meeting of the Malts VII, the BOP will honor the recipient of the inaugural President’s Award. Selected by BOP President, Chris Lampe of Weyerbacher, the President’s Award is given to a person(s) or organization in recognition of and appreciation for outstanding achievement and extraordinary contributions to the Pennsylvania craft beer industry.
Legislative Awards
Meeting of the Malts VII will also include the second annual Legislative Awards, an honor that recognizes a person or organization the BOP considers a partner in the industry, one who continually strives to promote and protect Pennsylvania’s craft beer industry. This year’s recipients are Rep. Paul Costa (Pa. District 34, serving Allegheny County), Rep. Adam Harris (Pa. District 82, serving Franklin, Juniata, and Mifflin Counties), Rep. Patty Kim (Pa. District 103, serving Dauphin County), Sen. James Brewster (Pa. District 45, serving Allegheny County and Westmoreland County), Sen. John Rafferty (Pa. District 44, serving Berks, Chester, and Montgomery Counties), and Sen. Charles McIlhinney , (Pa. District 10, serving Bucks County).
BrewPub Festival
Following the powerhouse panel, which will include opening remarks from Dick Yuengling (D.G.
