BarAnthony’s CEO and founder Anthony Bruno grew up on Long Island in a traditional Italian family. They moved to South Florida in 1982 where Anthony and his father debuted Anthony’s Runway 84, an Italian restaurant near the Fort Lauderdale airport. The restaurant remains one of the area’s most celebrated and popular restaurants.

In 2002, Anthony unveiled a new concept that brought the taste of coal oven pizza to South Floridians. There are now ACFP locations throughout Florida, Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Their signature menu includes traditional and specialty pizzas with dough made daily and stretched to order; fresh coal oven roasted chicken wings; large homemade meatballs from a recipe passed down by Anthony’s grandmother; a classic Italian salad with original dressing; and Eggplant Marino (named for Restaurant Partner and NFL Hall of Fame Legend Dan Marino).

FlyerBut don’t forget, every great pie deserves a great beer to go with it. Recently, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza teamed with Fort Lauderdale-based Funky Buddha Brewery to create Fuhgeddaboudit Red.

The 5.4% ABV Italian-American Ale is brewed with a blend of European barley and English hops, and is flavorful enough to balance the intense crunch of coal-fired crust. Fuhgeddaboudit Red is available at the south Florida ACFP locations.

Anthony’s in Wyomissing recently hosted a tap takeover with our friends at Evil Genius Beer Company and it was an amazing success. The evil geniuses (genii?) themselves were there and chatted it up with the guests. Brews on tap included Forsaken, Hop King, Pure Evil, and Evil EYE PA. They handed out samples and t-shirts and general good cheer was in abundance.

The restaurant plans to host one tap takeover each month through the summer. Appalachian Brewing Company and Tröegs Brewing Company are lined up for May and June.
