Banger Brewing began in a garage for five local homebrewing friends in Las Vegas, Nevada. Immersed in the hobby the longest, Michael “Banger” Beaman has been brewing for almost a decade and is behind the brewery’s name.

The other four owners – Roberto Mendoza, Nick Fischella, Edward Quiogue, and Marc Longwith – all bring a passion for brewing and experience in the foodservice industry from waiting tables to bartending.

Locals are quite familiar with Banger Brewing, as the crew has been serving up their beers at local beer fests since 2011, including beers like the Sandia, a watermelon wheat made with fresh watermelon puree.

Neon-Sign

Banger Brewing held its grand opening in December 2013, becoming Las Vegas’s second downtown brewery – the first on Fremont Street. The brewpub is inside the Neonopolis Complex in the heart of The Fremont Street Experience. They are next to the Heart Attack Grill, near the Slotzilla zipline ride at Las Vegas Blvd and Fremont St.

The facade of the brewpub is brick with the expected neon flashing sign reading “BREWERY.” The 3,000-square foot space offers 10 taps serving up both Banger Brewing beers and other local favorites.

Bar Gifts

The inside of Banger Brewing is a welcome change from the bright lights and sounds of Glitter Gulch. There is a long bar and several cafe tables with chairs. The space is timeless and masculine, with just the right amount of feminine touches including mid-century wallpaper and wooden-framed tap list screen.

The walls in the back of the taproom are covered with enlarged historic photos of Fremont Street, featured like pieces of art. The marble-like white bar top, stainless steel touches, and industrial light fixtures complete the look.
