Bison Brewing Saison de Wench, a 6.0% ABV farmhouse ale brewed with botanicals

Saison de Wench is a botanically-inspired tribute to the Beer Wench herself, Ashley Routson. Ashley, AKA the Director of Awesomeness, brings her sass, energetic personality, social media expertise, and ever-changing colorful hair to Bison.
Ashley and brewmaster Dan Del Grande collaborated on Saison de Wench, which was first brewed in 2013, but was available only on draft.
The beer base is Bison Brewing’s farmhouse ale recipe (which won the 2006 GABF Gold Medal in the Farmhouse Ale category) brewed with rose petals, hibiscus, and lemongrass added at various parts of the brewing process, including the mash.
The beer is brewed with 100% USDA certified organic Tow Row, Carapils, Wheat, and Munich malts and Sterling hops. The subtle malt sweetness and hop bitterness balance the herbal and floral notes of the rose petals and hibiscus, finishing tart and dry.
Saison de Wench pairs well with fresh fruit, seafood, ripe cheeses, and spicy foods. Bison recommends pairing this brew with curries, ceviche, crab, mussels, goat cheese, burrata, charcuterie, roasted chicken, truffles, salads, and fruit desserts.
