ShawneeCraft Jumps on the Can Wagon

ShawneeCraft Jumps on the Can Wagon

ShawneeCraft Brewing Company has jumped on the can wagon. That’s right, our Episode 28: True to the Brew guests are now canning their tasty beers!

ShawneeCraft is canning three varieties to start: Apiarius, the 5.5% ABV pale ale brewed with honey; Biere Blanche, the 4.7% ABV Belgian-style wheat beer brewed with orange peel and coriander, and Session IPA, the 5% ABV light, dry IPA with a fresh citrus burst from American hop varieties.

The can labels were hand-drawn by Brand Evangelist Tim Meyers. The canning was performed by River City Cannery, based in Laurel, Maryland.

ShawneeCraft decided to put some of their beers into cans because Shawnee is a place with so many great outdoor amenities to enjoy (golf, hiking, biking, floating the Delaware River, etc.), and cans are the perfect vessel to be enjoyed in the outdoors, much more so than bottles or growlers.

This first run of cans is only available in ShawneeCraft, and they are selling quickly!

Other varieties may be available in the future, depending on timing and demand.  In the meantime, ShawneeCraft is also in the process of developing 4-packs of Double Pale, Raspberry Blanche, and Saison Cuvee 2015 bottles.  They look forward to getting these into grocery stores and bottles shops throughout eastern and central PA.

ShawneeCraft’s guiding principle is True to Nature; True to the Craft.  They are located on the banks of the Delaware River, surrounded by State and National Forest, at the historic Shawnee Inn. ShawneeCraft uses only the very best ingredients they can get their hands on to make beers that are organic and local if possible.

Visit ShawneeCraft’s Tap Room in the brewery. Brewery tours are available Thursday and Friday at 4 PM and Saturday at noon. The taproom is open on Thursday and Friday nights from 4 to 10 PM and Saturday afternoons from noon to 5 PM.
