Blood, Sweat and Beer Screening in York, PA

Guess what? Steph and Wayne finally saw Blood, Sweat, & Beer… and it was awesome! Directors Chip Hiden and Alexis Irvin were guests on Beer Busters Podcast back in Episode 52: Brews of Hazard. Listen here.

The Beer Ace, the leading wholesale beer distributor in south-central Pennsylvania, hosted the documentary screening on May 6, 2015 at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center on North George Street in York, PA.

Tickets were $5, and 100% of the ticket sales benefited The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Central PA. A Q&A session with directors Chip Hiden and Alexis Irvin followed the screening.

Beers from Ithaca Beer Co., Yards Brewing Company, Deschutes Brewery and Starr Hill Brewery were available at the theatre for purchase during the show.

Blood, Sweat, & Beer is feature documentary about the explosive growth of the craft beer industry and the dramatic journeys of two start-up breweries.

The film follows brewer and restaurateur Danny Robinson of Backshore Brewing Company on the boardwalk of Ocean City, Maryland as he fights an aggressive trademark lawsuit that could take everything from him.

The film also follows Matt Katase, Asa Foster and Brandon Capps as the trio of 23-year-olds start The Brew Gentlemen Beer Company in Braddock, Pennsylvania, a once-prosperous steel town trying to bounce back from decades of neglect, violence and population loss.
